We are currently planning the 5th annual Superhero Race for Lace 5K in support of the Crestview Great Strides. The participation from our local community has been amazing! We have had more than 2,000 people in attendance, and we have raised more than $150,000 toward a cure for cystic fibrosis in the last four years. Our hopes are that we can almost match that amount this year alone!
Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease that causes the body to produce thick, sticky mucus. This abnormal mucus impairs digestion and causes numerous lung infections that eventually destroy a patient’s lungs. In 1955, when the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF) was founded, the average life expectancy of a child with cystic fibrosis was just 5 years old, but with research funded by CFF through events like the Race for Lace 5K & Great Strides, the life expectancy is now 38 years of age and increasing daily!
Please be a superhero this year and help make a difference in the lives of those born with cystic fibrosis. Enclosed are the sponsorship opportunities for the 5th annual Superhero Race for Lace 5K. We thank you in advance for your consideration, and we hope you will help us fight the battle against CF!
